RSVP for Social Events

ASCEND sessions are designed for adult caregivers. Loved ones with Rett syndrome and children are welcome at Summit evening social events provided they meet IRSF’s Covid protocol, but the overall Summit experience may not be well-suited for them. Please make a caregiver plan for your child(ren) during sessions so that you and other participants can benefit from our speakers.

Including yourself, please choose how many guests will attend each ASCEND Evening Social Event:

Join us for a reception at the beautiful Water’s Edge restaurant located in the Gaylord Opryland’s largest atrium. Enjoy light hors d'oeuvres to welcome parents, families, and caregivers to ASCEND and connect with clinicians and Rett organizations from around the world.
Come network and share ideas with your Rett community during small group discussions and an open forum on the issues and topics most relevant to you. During this time, all exhibitor booths will be open for you to visit. Plus, bring the whole family to get your family portrait taken by Dave Clements, and participate in a special meet & greet (starting at 7 p.m.) and bedtime story reading with ASCEND’s keynote speaker, Chris Ulmer.
It’s time for gratitude, reflection, and celebration! Dress in your favorite purple attire for live music by country singer Kevin Black, dancing, and more!


COVID-19 Protocol Acknowledgment

IRSF is committed to hosting an event that prioritizes the health and safety of our attendees, speakers, and staff. We will continue to monitor the national, state, and local COVID-19 situation; thus these guidelines may change as needed. We thank you for your commitment to our community’s health and your understanding as we navigate the ever-changing environment.

I agree that my guests and I will follow these COVID-19 mitigation protocols:

  1. Attendees and guests who are ill (including, but not limited to, symptoms commonly associated with COVID-19), regardless of vaccination status, will not attend ASCEND.
  2. Proof of vaccination OR a negative COVID test taken at most 72 hours before Summit check-in will be required to be admitted to any sessions or events hosted by our Foundation. Please note that most at-home rapid tests will NOT meet this requirement. See Event FAQs for more information on accepted vaccines and tests. We have partnered with VeriFLY, a secure travel and event app, to check and verify these requirements.
  3. Decisions regarding masking requirements will be made closer to the time of the conference, and in conjunction with our medical advisors.
  4. IRSF will enforce the CDC guidelines that are in place at the time of the event, informed by any local or regional mandates.

Event Waiver

I understand and agree that I am voluntarily participating in the ASCEND 2022 Rett Syndrome National Summit, hosted by the International Rett Syndrome Foundation, at my own risk and my own request. I hereby waive all claims against International Rett Syndrome Foundation, its employees, Board of Directors, contractors, event sponsors, personnel, and volunteers for injury or loss that I might suffer as a result of my participation. I also grant full permission for the free use of my name, picture, and voice in the broadcast, telecast, print account, or any other account in any medium of this event. I attest that I am over the age of 18 and am able to make these representations on behalf of myself or am the legal guardian of the individual being registered.
