Dear Parents,
The school year is underway and I hope it has started out on the right foot for your child. Routines are now in place and schedules are set…it is time to get down to business with academics and therapies. We realize for many educators, it can be a struggle to know the best educational techniques and practices for individuals diagnosed with Rett syndrome. Because of this, IRSF has established the Educators Network which has flourished over the past year. The network, consisting of close to 200 members, runs primarily through email, teleconference calls and webinars. The network has turned into a place where professionals working with a child with Rett syndrome can share information, tips and advice with each other. I urge you to print this flyer and share with your child’s classroom teacher, special education teacher, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist or any other individuals working with your child. Enrollment is ongoing but in order to involve all educators in October Rett Syndrome Awareness Month, we are hoping to have individuals enroll by October 31, 2011.
