Biography
|
My name is Vanessa Peace and I am the new NorthEast Texas Regional Representative for the International Rett Syndrome Foundation. Here is a little bit about my family. I am from Montreal, Canada where I met my now husband Mike who is from Dallas, Texas. He and I have now been married for 3 years and live in Carrollton. I am an advertising manager at Southwest Airlines. We have a beautiful little girl, named Gabriella Leone (Ella) who is 2 and was diagnosed on September 12, 2010. We are also expecting a little brother for Ella in early October 2011. The International Rett Syndrome Foundation has been an anchor for us as we have embarked on this lifelong journey. It has allowed us to reach out and speak to real people who have many of the same concerns that we do.
Please feel free to reach out to me as often as you need to; whether it be simply to vent, share funny stories or for ongoing support. I have learned that having a good support system is a major key in living with our girls. That is why the IRSF is so important to us all. I have also found some great sources of information from other parents of Rett girls through RettNet, and also the Texas Rett Club Facebook group has a growing group of parents (you can actually find me on that page and ‘friend request’ me).
