Here is a "toast" to our beautiful Isabella! She is such an amazing girl! The joy she brings to our lives is immeasurable! That smile...those eyes...that contagious laugh! She is six years old and goes to Kindergarten where she has sooo many friends...she even has her own little welcoming committee when she gets there in the morning! Of course there are challenges...like when she "fusses" and we can't figure out what is wrong or if something hurts, but oh! the blessings FAR outnumber them! She was a "normal" baby who could sit-up, crawl, "cruise", feed herself, and even had about 12 words...but then at the age of 17 months, she lost those words, and began having trouble using her hands...10 months later after many, many tests, we received the devastating diagnosis of Rett Syndrome, and our lives were changed forever. Since that time, she developed seizures (controlled, for the most part, by medication), has difficulty walking, and depends on someone for 100% of her daily care... Having said all that though...God has blessed us with this special angel and for that we are forever thankful...for she has touched our hearts and taught us so much about love, patience, and joy...we could never thank Him enough for the privilege of having her as our daughter! We love you Isabella!!!
