Rachel was born a beautiful, healthy baby girl in October 2003. She was on track for her developmental goals and we were so excited to watch her future unfold. This all changed after Rachel was about 10-months-old.

After 10-months everyone started seeing changes in her progression. She was not learning anything new and was actually digressing. After 3 years of testing and several thousands of dollars of out of pocket expenses, we finally received the diagnosis of Rett Syndrome.

Rachel does not walk, talk, crawl or stand on her own. She suffers from seizures; that lately have increased in frequency and intensity. She is still in diapers and still needs to be spoon fed. Despite all her impairments, her laughter is infectious and her personality is engaging.

We are blessed to have our daughter. she is an amazing person. We ask that you toast a cheerful thought as you think of her each day.
